The company name "Trace Ellements" evolved
from the concept of
combining many different types of materials -- semi-precious stones,
German,
Czech, Chinese and Indian glass beads, plus crystal, porcelain, metal
and fabric elements -- into extraordinary pieces that are beautifully
balanced in shape and color. Hence, the intentional misspelling of
Trace
Ellements: "elle" (French
for she) is a little play on words to pay homage
to the wonderful world of women and all they represent.
Founder and designer of Trace Ellements, Tracy
Ellison,
began the company in 1990 while working in the fashion advertising
industry. From a need to constantly be creating and designing something
new,
she
began turning out exciting new jewelry for creative
types in the advertising business. They loved them, bought them
up and encouraged
Tracy to
grow the business into something more. Staying involved in the
fashion
industry as a photographer's fashion stylist and advertising writer
kept her closely emersed in the current trends which influenced
her wide
range of designs. Since then the company has expanded into the home
accessories arena
as well. Coming up with new and innovative ideas that are useful,
beautiful and accentuate everyday living are key to the Trace Ellements
mindset.
Trace Ellements has found its way into department
stores and high-end specialty boutiques around the United States
and Canada.
While shooting in Chicago, a film crew stylist for the box office
hit "Prelude To A Kiss" starring
Meg Ryan and Alec Baldwin discovered
a Trace Ellements one-of-a-kind charm bracelet from a local boutique.
The bracelet plays a key role in the plot by noting the mysterious
behavior of Ryan's character's new zest for life! Other Trace Ellements
pieces have been featured in many fashion ads, magazine accessory
stories
and worn by local newscasters on television.
